Book 2 begins a few months after the close of book 1, but you don't have to read book 1 in order to understand or follow the story. Granted, it does help with the back story, but it's not necessary. Lilly Tipps was abandoned when she discovered she was pregnant. Now, eight months later, she's on a rescue mission for her donkey, Samantha. What she does not anticipate is getting lassoed by her handsome new neighbor. Cort Wells is horrified when he realized he just roped his very pregnant neighbor and equally shocked when he discovers that the one doing all the damage in his barn is her donkey. What follows is a sweet story of two hearts who have been badly hurt. As one reaches out in healing towards the other, will they be able to connect? Or will one of them feel too damaged to respond? I enjoyed the humor and most especially the message of faith and trust in God - that waiting on God pays off. Romance - PG - some kisses Language - clean My rating - 5 stars.
