Flowers, Whales and Fires: Road Tripping across 1200 miles with romance author Debra Clopton
We had an amazing two week “working” road trip from Modesto California all the way up through Oregon, Washington and into Canada! Chuck saw clients and I wrote and did research 🙂 on a few romances that will come out in 2019. I'm going to add photos a little later, I'm having trouble getting them to load this morning. In the photo above we were in Sydney by the Sea in British Columbia about to go looking for Orca whales. We had an amazing day and saw many. There are some photos on my facebook page (but I know some of you aren't on FB so I'll hopefully load these beautiful photos of whales and flowers and some good food too 🙂
We saw gray whales off the coast of Oregon, near the lighthouse outside of Newport. We saw whales all the way along the coast but got extra up close at the lighthouse. We did the same thing last year too so I highly suggest going to the cove section near the lighthouse.
We saw Orca, killer whales, in Sydney just past the San Juan Islands, a lovely area to visit either Canada or the US islands. We also stayed in the lovely small Beacon Inn just off of the main street in Sydney.
I was struck by the beauty of the Butchart Gardens, just outside of Sydney. The flowers of the garden were amazing and the fact that Mrs. Butchart over a hundred years ago had a vision of taking her husband's ugly rock quarry and turning it into a huge flower garden was wonderful. And so many millions have enjoyed the beauty all these years. People from all over the world were there with us and I loved watching them take photos. Some people really get into posing for photos. Inspired by them, I did an action shot and Chuck snapped it. I'll upload it when he gets home. 🙂
So I'll end here until later. I'd promised in my newsletter that the photos would be here but I hadn't realized I was going to have trouble uploading. Hopefully tonight I'll get this fixed.
Meanwhile, don't forget to preorder Drake book 6 of Cowboys of Ransom Creek and Brice book 7 of Cowboys of Ransom Creek.
